summer you get back here {part 2}

I know I just posted yesterday, but I figured a few of the adventures mentioned in it needed their own posts. Like Indianapolis roaming. Plus it's Michael Jackson's birthday today.

So, Indiana.

This map was in our orthodontist's office, we got to put a pin on it

My mom, Nathan, and I went to this convention with my Grandpa where he sells his books that Nathan and I illustrated the covers for a couple years ago.

A lot of weird costumes and weird smells and weird food and weird tasting water. Basically not Oregon.

We had a lot of cute adventures there. Like this 50's burger place in the mall

I'd like to take this moment to say that at one point all waitresses and waiters all broke into a choreographed dance to the song "Respect." I don't think it gets better than that ever.

Our hotel used to be a train station. The conductor really liked my purse.

The city was really pretty

 A bunch of the rooftops and all of the fire hydrants and taxis were turquoise.

Which by the way was a coast to coast flight :)

We flew to Atlanta and then back to Portland

And that concludes the trip!! :)

summer you get back here and let me love you. summer. SUMMMER.

Well, it's officially one week left until school starts.



My summer has been as fantastic as any summer filled with new-driver-experiencing, Indianapolis-roaming, coast-to-coast-flying, Marvel-superhero-movie-watching, Silver-Creek-Falls-ing, and girls-camp-tenting adventures can be.

And although 9 hours isn't very long, I can already tell that I love being wisdom-toothless

(got em out this morning)

However this card from my bff made me feel a little less like dying

One summer adventure that I haven't posted about yet is the aforementioned girls-camp-tenting adventure, when I got to be a youth leader for the first time with three other amazin' YCLs and nine flippin' amazin' second years. They seriously were hilarious, our group da sunflowers even made up our own Sunflower Girl's Camp Dictionary. We took turns making up words and definitions for the video camera. I have never laughed so hard, some of them are pretty good.

I have seriously never felt so much love for a group of kids I've never met than what I felt for these incredible 13-year-old girls. I knew them for what, five days, and I already felt like we were a family. Their testimonies are so strong, they just glow :)

I had a blast taking my baby* to camp and recording all our adventures. The girls even took it without me knowing and filmed themselves doing a bunch of raps and messing around and stuff. That night after I got home from camp and looked through all the footage was just the best.

Overall fellas, can I just say I've had a sweet summer being 16? 

And that I am looking forward to Junior year and am equal parts excited/meh-no-biggie/scared (okay maybe a little more of excited/meh-no-biggie). And that I am also 100% freaking out that my little brother is going to be a freshman, seriously what is this? Love you, man.
